College Planning Partners, LLC is an independent educational consulting firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan that helps parents and students manage all aspects of college funding, application, and personal and career development throughout the college years.

Our planners help parents uncover little-known strategies and unique funding resources so they can better manage cashflow during these critical years.

For students, we help navigate the college search and application process while providing career direction and other support throughout their college journey.

Our Team

Ben Barber

Founder and Partner Ben Barber is a certified member of the American College Funding Association. As a graduate of two private universities, he is no stranger to the high cost of college education. A first-generation college graduate, he studied Political Science and Public Affairs at Alma College, then earned a Master's Degree in Public Policy Analysis at the University of Chicago. In addition to college planning, he has a background in banking and public speaking.

The common thread throughout his career - whether in financial services, as a small business owner, trainer or personal coach - is his commitment to making a real and lasting difference in the lives of the people he serves. He lives in the Ann Arbor area, loves history and music, and enjoys mentoring students and parents alike as they create their college future.
